This double album is a look, a listening to ancestry and a message from the present to the future; the return of the world, what the world has given, what the world gives. Between the beat of the drums and the sway of the rhythm, Caboclo Mensageiro celebrates the sacred encounter of the African with the indigenous - the true and first owner of this Brazilian land.
Inspired by the legacy of Masters Ananias, João Grande, Traíra, and Cobrinha Verde, and guided by the experience of Masters Cabello and Marcelo Finco, this work delves into the foundation where the touch and the song become a prayer. Here, the Caboclo is the master of the message: the one who brings the strength of the forests to protect the body, expand the mind, and keep alive the flame of Capoeira identity.
The Power of Registration: From Serra Grande to the World
Recorded in February 2016 in the mystical Serra Grande, Bahia, the album captures the vibrant energy of Mestre Cabello's group and his students. The sound recording was handled by the legendary Cyro Baptista, a renowned Brazilian percussionist based in New York. Cyro, who has collaborated with icons such as Paul Simon, Herbie Hancock, and John Zorn, brought a unique sensitivity to this recording, treating each atabaque beat and berimbau vibration as a high-fidelity soundscape, elevating the musicality of Capoeira Angola to a level of global artistic excellence.
The Art of Líbero Malavoglia: Where Childhood Meets its Foundation
The visual aspect of this project carries a profound emotional weight. The illustrations are by Líbero Malavoglia, a veteran master of the Brazilian comic book scene. For Marcelo Finco, this collaboration was a gift from fate: a comic book fan since childhood, Marcelo grew up following the work of Líbero, the original artist of the iconic "O Vira-Lata" series in the 90s.
Líbero is recognized for his powerful visual storytelling, having collaborated with Dr. Drauzio Varella on landmark public health campaigns. Having Líbero's clean lines and visual intelligence-an artist who understands the "hustle and bustle" and cunning of the Brazilian streets-completes a cycle of admiration, giving a face to the strength of the forest and the magic of this album.

The Invitation: Bringing the Pot Together
This work proves that Candomblé, Samba, and Capoeira share the same essence. When the drum beats and the chorus responds, the Nguzo is present, uniting the sacred and the profane in a single heartbeat.
We invite all friends, students, and admirers to immerse themselves in this message. This album is not just a record, but a call for capoeira practitioners and artists to expand their horizons and seek collaborations that strengthen our culture.
Salve strength of the forest and all the indigenous peoples of the planet!
